Served in the Middle East with the Marine Corps before joining FDNY in 1962… His legendary career spanned 39 years, earning five awards for valor and 16 unit citations… Nationally renowned rescue expert led Oklahoma City and Atlanta terrorist attacks rescue/recovery efforts among many others… Sons Joe and Chuck both became FDNY chiefs… Chuck was a standout football player at Hofstra Univ. and signed with the Philadelphia Eagles before joining FDNY… Son Joe heads an Urban Search and Rescue Task Force Remains located in May 2002 and buried in St. Charles Cemetery in East Farmingdale, N.Y.
