These men were statesmen. What we have now, with few (if any) exceptions, are politicians. They are a completely different animal.

The signers of the Declaration of Independence were men of extreme vision, honesty, integrity of principle and of highest character, who were willing to give up their every possession, including family, in order to establish freedom and liberty in America.

Those qualities are next to impossible to find at any level of government today. The country is being destroyed from within by its government representatives. Their primary interest and objective is to do whatever they can to gain more power and control for themselves, over the people they were elected to serve. Once they get elected the high percentage direct their attention to saying and doing anything to ensure self-perpetuation and wealth accumulation from off the backs of the citizens of America and whoever else they can lure into their web.

If only we could find Men of such heart and mind today...
Those who occupy Washington today do little more than discrace the memory of the Signers.
