This was my province during my tour in Afghanistan. Our unit was the first permanent coalition unit in Farah Province. It is a haven for poppy growers and it was used as a rest and recover area for the Taliban while we were there. It is a province which borders Iran so it has a heavy Iranian intelligence presence as well.
